-Back to School Bingo by Carrie Manchester From the author, "School Themed Bingo Game with WH question draw cards. Vocabulary words include: scissors, paint, book, backpack, glue, globe, pencil, chalkboard, and crayons. You get six bingo cards and draw cards with WH questions for each object." You can also use this activity along with the Expanding Expression Tool Kit tm.
-Who Works in Your School? by Carrie Manchester Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the download here button. From the author, ""Whoo Works in Your School?" helps you work on WH- questions and to target vocabulary, specifically occupations within a school!"
-Back to School: What am I? by For His Glory From the author, "These cards are perfect as an easy back-to-school, icebreaker activity. The game cards work well with the popular, kid-friendly game, Hedbandz. Students are unaware of the cards on their headband and ask their peers elimination questions to figure out their item. The first player to guess their item, WINS the round." I also use these with the EET kit and have students describe each object and complete the worksheet I created. You can find more about EET here and download my worksheet here.
-Language Processing Goes Back to School by Sue Blankenship SLP701 This freebie is AMAZING! You can use these apple-themed cards to target various language processing skills featuring school vocabulary! Skills targeted include functions, associations, categorization, and comparisons. This is great for our older 3-5th graders!
-Back to School Vocabulary by Margo Stratis. Don't let this one slip by you. Although there is no preview and no pictures on each of the apple flashcards, that is EXACTLY why I love it. At school, I teach visualization strategies through Lindamood Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing. You can use these cards with your older students that can read and ask them to describe what they "picture" in their mind when they see the word. This skill develops comprehension on so many levels. Students who are not able to make pictures in their mind cannot fully comprehend what they are reading. I like using these cards also while playing "Headbanz" with my older students. Sometimes we need to take away all the visual supports we provide so that our students can develop these skills.
-Back to School Vocab and Worksheet Freebie by Lauren LaCour This includes a board game and open ended worksheets that I filed under my "Open Ended" section. This cute back to school themed freebie includes an open ended game board that can be used with any target or activity, 16 vocabulary cards that can be used for describing, labeling, functions, etc. It also includes those open ended worksheets I mentioned above: say it 3 times worksheet, color or do-a-dot apple worksheet, and roll-a-sound erasers. Perfect to add to your speech rooms around the beginning of the school year. Enjoy!
-Back to School Antonyms by Sara Moellering. You're going to love this one! A cute back to school game for your primary kiddos that practices antonym matching. There is a response sheet to go with it. Works great for individual word, partner work, or a word work station!
